Course Requirements

  1. Prerequisites:
    • No Prior design experience needed
    • Basic computer literacy (file management, web browsing).
  2. Software/Tools:
    • Free option: Canvas, GIMP, Inkscape, Figma
    • Paid(Optional): Adobe Creative Cloud(Photoshop/Illustrator).
    • A Smartphone/tablet with design app (e.g.: Procreate, Adobe Express)
  3. Materials
    • Sketchbook/pencil for brainstorming.
    • Access to a computer with internet.
  4. Commitment
    • 3-5 hours/week for lessons, exercises, and projects.


Course Description

This course introduces the fundamentals of graphic design, equipping beginners with the skills to create visually compelling content. Students will explore design principles, typography, color theory, and digital tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or free alternatives like Canva/GIMP). Through hands-on projects, learners will develop a portfolio-ready piece while understanding the role of design in branding, advertising, and digital media.

  • Duration: 6–8 weeks (flexible)
  • Format: Online/In-person (with video tutorials, assignments, and feedback)

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will:

    1. Understand Design Fundamentals:
